Everything is awesome, everything is good 😂

But on a serious note, All songs in Rio 2. Loved that movie because of the songs 🙌

    2. “Two Little Sisters,” sung by Carly Simon and Meryl Streep for Marvin’s Room (1996)

Freddy Mercury singing “New York, New York” in Highlander.
It’s just a snippet, and no full cut of that exists.

Big Bottom from “This is Spinal Tap.” Or really any of their songs, including Lick my Love Pump.

I know they released the music in an album afterwards, but it was all made specifically for the movie itself.

there’s an old French movie called Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? which is a wonderful send up of the hip and haute world of the European high fashion class or the 60s. At one point there’s a scene where there’s a sort of proto punk song where all the lyrics are just disgusting guttural noises, and it goes so hard, and I’ve never ever found a recording of it outside of the film. it has no name and no composer data behind it though I have to imagine it was Michel Legrand. you can see the movie on Criterion, it’s wonderful for many reasons beside the song!

    6. God Give Me Strength in Grace of My Heart. Great song written by Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach. Sung by in the film by Kristen Vigard, who provided the vocals to dub the actress Illeana Douglas, but by Elvis and Burt on the soundtrack. Version in the film was never released.

Such a banger from the 80s classic Iron Eagle. Somehow, it was omitted from the soundtrack release.

    8. The original tracks (not traditional folk songs/covers) from the soundtrack to ‘Inside Llewelyn Davis.’

Man of constant sorrow is a classic bluegrass song. It was absolutely not solely made for the movie.

“Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, performed by Simple Minds, was written for *The Breakfast Club* (1985).

    11. Man of Constant Sorrow is an traditional country/folk/bluegrass standard that i knew long before the Cohen Brothers film. I sang along at my first viewing of the film.

Your question did pique my curious about what was know about the origin of the piece. There are many traditional folk songs that you may be unfamiliar with. Some originating centuries ago.

The songs written for the film ‘In the Heat of the Night’ (1967) are great but if I had to single one out it would be ‘Foul Owl on the Prowl’ by Quincy Jones. That scene is so creepy. I love it!
