Kim Kardashian reacted to Tennessee stopping the execution of Tony Carruthers after failing to find inmate’s vein for lethal drugs. She has asked followers to contact the Tennessee Governor to ask for DNA testing that could prove his innocence.

You know what? It’s great she continues to lend her voice to wrongful and/or shady convictions, and death penalty executions. I don’t give a shit she’s a horrible person. We all contain multitudes, and a big chunk of her multitudes are bad, but this is such a dark, complicated, fraught thing for any celebrity to shine a light on, especially one with as big a reach as her. And sure, you can say “oh, what is she really doing, aside from sharing a story on her insta, etc. etc.” but you know what? All of the other celebrities you know did nothing. I don’t give a shit. Sometimes we can give someone a tiny kudo for doing something small.
As cringe as self absorbed Kim can be, I really have to applaud her work with the justice system. Even though she keeps on failing the bar, her notoriety really helps brings these kinds of cases to light.
They can ask. They’re not going to get it, but they can ask.
I maintain that while she was deeply unserious about becoming a lawyer, she is really passionate about her criminal justice work. She probably wanted the degree to legitimize her work, but she can still do good without it.
