Sanderson is writing the pilot script with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen (‘*Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’*):
>In the *Skyward* (aka *Cytoverse*) sci-fi book series, humanity is trapped on a harsh planet and constantly under attack by mysterious alien forces. The story follows Spensa Nightshade, a determined pilot who dreams of joining the fighter corps to defend humanity and redeem her disgraced father’s legacy. Blending high-stakes aerial combat, advanced technology, and themes of courage, identity, and discovery, the series explores both the secrets of the galaxy and Spensa’s growth from an outsider into a key figure in humanity’s fight for survival.

Skyward was fun. I hope that they will incorporate the Skyward Flight side-stories into where they fit across books 2 and 3. There’s a good opportunity for improvements to the story.

So first the news about Stormlight Archive/Cosmere (Mistborn) getting adapted for TV. Now this. Wondering if this the usual thing of Hollywood not wanting to take risks but then being fearful of missing the train leaving the station.
How long before someone realizes that Reckoners is basically a ready-made superhero/antihero series set in the vein of The Boys and comes knocking?

I am SO excited by this. I just finished listening to the audiobooks for this series and the accompanying novellas for the second time a couple of days ago!
I assume the novellas, which take place in between the main novels, are going to be adapted as well. I definitely think those would help round out a series and make it less “only Spensa, all the time.”
I fully expect M-Bot and Lord Hesho (and the kitsen in general) to be the breakout stars of this thing.

Sanderson already paused working on Mistborn Era 3 to work on the movie script, then he’s going to work on the Stormlight show stuff. And now I guess he has another thing to work on.
It’s cool to see his work adapted, but I wonder how much all these will push back his book publication schedule.

Literally the best case scenario. It’s interesting Sarah J mass is still struggling to get her Books adapted. While Rebecca and Brandon already have stuff lined up.

Loved the first book.
Second book was longer than it should have been so I never bothered with book 3 lol.

It’s an interesting choice to go with TV for this. I’d have assumed that the books would fit films better, maybe except for the last one.
