    1. I would love to see Arnold play Druss in a Legend movie. I know it’ll never happen, so this is likely the closest I’ll ever get.

I’ll believe it when it starts filming. Arnold has been trying to get this rolling for the last 20+ years. Heck I remember him talking about it at Comic Con panel back in the 90’s.

The joke of “Till Your 90” in Deadpool applies to a lot more actors than Hugh Jackman.

      Arnold:

      >“Next year we are going to do ‘King Conan.’ So that is a reality now, and I am excited about it. For the last ten years, I have been saying, ‘We should do King Conan, and we should get a great script written, get someone who really understands Robert E. Howard, who understands the artwork of Frank Frazetta, and to continue on.’ I want to have John Milius, the director of Conan 1, to be maybe the producer. So it will be really fantastic.”

      >“The movie wouldn’t have worked after I did the first Conan because the whole idea of King Conan is that for 40 years he has been king, he is older now. He is no longer in the shape he was from his heyday, and now people are trying to take him out. He’s the king, and he gets a little bit complacent. He’s tired of the job, and he wants to move on. Look at the movie by Clint Eastwood, [‘Unforgiven’]. It will be a lot like that, but it will be with extraordinary battles,”

If McQuarrie is really doing it, that is the first time King Conan has felt genuinely real to me.

Arnold coming back for one last brutal, older Conan story could be amazing.

Love Arnie, but I’m pretty sure even McQuarrie would be surprised reading that headline. This is just Arnold doing what he’s been doing for decades ie casually confirming things that aren’t actually locked in.

The unfortunate reality is that he’s not even a fraction of the movie star he once was. His word alone doesn’t carry the kind of weight needed to greenlight a big-budget project anymore.

no studio today is going to risk $100M+ on a film driven purely by Arnold’s name, especially when he’s no longer relevant to the current generation.

That said, I’d absolutely love to see it happen. He’s still incredibly charismatic and entertaining on screen. I enjoyed him in T5, T6, The Last Stand, Sabotage, and even FUBAR. I even watched those expendable movies just for his cameos.

But realistically, this feels more like nostalgia talking than something that’s actually going to get made.

I know I’m in the minority on this (at least on the internet), but I think its too late for this. The time to do a King Conan movie was thirty years ago. Twenty, at the latest. Arnold is too old for this action hero stuff. His time has passed. If this comes out, I imagine it will get a similar reception to the newest Indiana Jones movie.

Enough of these retirement home action heroes. Either recast or let it rest.
