It’s being released in 4K and will be available nationwide and internationally from Sept 17-21

    2. “You’ve got the touch… You’ve got the powerrrrrrrrrrr…” Still gives me chills 😭

What is “The Apology Tour” in the bottom left corner?

      Who is apologizing?

Uh, spoiler much? Next you’ll be telling me that Duke dies in the GI Joe movie…

    5. The most traumatic toy commercial ever.

“Hey, kids! Remember those toys you love and cherish! Well, they’re DEAD! WE KILLED THEM ALL! LOOK, THAT ONE JUST DIED ON A OPERATING TABLE….so how about getting some new toys! We’ve got them right here!”

    6. Fun fact: this was the last movie Orson Welles acted in (though another film he was in, Someone To Love, was released after this one, but my understanding is this was the last one he worked on).

“Ive got better things to do tonight than die.” Best quote from this very quotable flick.

I started reading Transformers comics in the 90s and while I don’t remember the storylines anymore, I do remember being fascinated at how emotional they were as characters. I was in tears at some parts.

Can’t deny Spielberg his greatness, but sometimes his name means zilch to me. Those movies (apologies to fans of the first one even) were just moronic male gaze post-FX house candy commercials. I despise them.

    9. Shame they are not adding anything that was cut to it.

Still plan to take my 8 year old to see it though.

I showed my dad this because he’s a huge Transformers fan, and he told me that when he watched this in theaters at like 10, he literally broke down in tears because it killed off all his favorite Transformers 😭

We had a flower bed outside our front door that was about 3′ wide and 20′ long. It was completely overgrown with nettles. I wanted to see this movie so badly and my mom knew it. She made me pick every nettle out of that flower bed for the money to go see it.

Then she *dropped off* her *six year old* son at the movie theater *with a check made out to the theater for $3* because the 80’s were a different time where you didn’t go to jail for doing any of those things.

Just to see Optimus Prime die and have his life force stolen out of his chest. Not sure what stung more; my hands or the stream of tears.

    12. I still get triggered thinking about Rodimus Prime taking over and the massacre on the ship. Poor Brawn, Prowl, Ratchet and Ironhide didn’t stand a chance.

‘The Apology Tour’ LMFAO making up for the last few films

Not gonna lie tho, I really liked the Transformers anime movie

    14. I recall listening to a Watchcast episode about the movie not too long ago, and apparently some of the key filmmakers and/or executives really had no idea that killing off favorite characters just to make room for new toys would have such an emotional impact. You’ve got to be pretty cynical or blind to miss that.

This is an incredible poster; can anyone find one sans the text? I think it’s much more impactful to have Prime dead with the Autobots reflected.

    16. Hasbro’s digging DEEP in that nostalgia barrel. I KNOW that it re-released this film not too long ago to celebrate the 4K release. We could’ve EASILY had the re-releases of the G1 ‘G.I. Joe’ & ‘My Little Pony’ films in theaters, but nooooo.

Oh I would most certainly love to hear that Vince DiCola score blasting throughout the theater.

I remember when I finally got to see this on tv when I was about 6 or 7. I tried to see it in the theatre when it came out but it was pg13 and my parents took me to Flight of the navigator instead

When Megatron met Unicron was one of the most epic moments in cartoon at the time. The transformation to Galvatron was awesome
