I love how this feels like a Jacky Chan sequence! Especially the broom foot spin.

They threw a bucket of money at him to come back to the Fast Furious series and he chose stuff like this and Knockaround Guys. I have some level of respect for him choosing to make his own serious attempt at making movies he wanted to make instead of just blindly going for the cash grabs. IIRC he also did some movies on the agreement that the studios would fund another Riddick movie.

FFX fight sequences were more realistic than this.

At 0:15 when he swats the stick away, it bends like rubber.
At 0:33 he drops the pushbroom on the floor, then in the next shot of the exact same angle, the broom is gone, only to rematerialize at this feet.
Still great choreography.

Love the camera angles and mini people he’s fighting. Dudes like 5’9

I was 13 with a bunch of younger siblings and this was one of 3 movies we had in our minivan’s DVD player. I must have seen this movie 50 times all in 30 minute segments.

My kids randomly chose to watch this the other day. Its exactly what I expected but admittedly better than I thought it would be. They enjoyed it

You’re telling me, that the same man that directed Hairspray (2007) directed the Pacifier?

Iconic
Not a bad fight scene for a mid 2000s kids movie.
