easy to read too fast and think he only spent 60 minutes cutting and gluing the film together, like a frantic cramming college student

i have a feeling this movie is going to be a massive letdown, i think Nolan has gotten a little too high on his own supply.

This take might age super poorly but I think this is going to be critically panned, or maybe just get lukewarm reviews à la Tenet. Something about it just doesn’t seem right, whether it’s the casting, the costumes, or what. I feel like it’s not going to be the epic home run everyone is hoping for.

The way he chuckles when asked did he really nearly drown Matt Damon while filming , his inner monologue said “To get the perfect shot, sacrifices have to be made”.
im joking but hilarious

Here’s my bold prediction: the movie will make a bajillion dollars and get decent reviews. Then there will be a backlash where a bunch of people online say, “Actually this movie sucks and is overrated.” And then in a few years there will be a backlash to the backlash and people will talk about how the movie was “misunderstood.”
For my part, I think it looks very bland, but I’d love to be wrong.

Making Elliot page achilles has sapped all enthusiasm I had for this film when it was initially announced.

I’ve honestly never seen a movie so insanely nitpicked before it’s even been released. Some of the criticisms feels more like an excuse to just hate on Nolan since that’s the fashionable thing to do for supposed movie buffs these days, rather than an actual critique of what’s been shown in trailers thus far. Maybe the movie will be amazing, maybe it’ll suck. But the amount of scrutiny is wild.

I waited my whole life for a big budget, epic Odyssey film…..
I don’t want to shit on this movie, but everything looks and feels wrong. Nothing Nolan has done since since TDK has been enjoyable for me. That movie’s success gave him carte blanche and his worst filmmaking tendencies have been at the forefront ever since. The Prestige was the peak and it’s been mediocre ever since.

Nolan does way too much explaining. I like directors who are coy, and let their art explain shit. Too much chin wagging before the film comes out, and it kills the excitement for me.
People will be critical, always and forever- so it makes zero difference how much explaining or defending he does

I still can’t imagine how he will cover The Odyssey in 3.5 hours. I am seated but I am sure I would want more and more.
Just hoping it doesn’t feel rushed

With his casting choices, I can believe that he gave it about 60 minutes of thought

Nolan’s like that drunk uncle who gets less fun the older you get.
