i try not to be too cynical but goddamn i have had enough with these fucking minions. honestly the only way you could convince me to watch this film is if it was nothing but scenes where every single minion ever named, featured or put to film in any way was dispatched in a some gruesome, unique way, and then the film switched to a documentary style film showing all the actual physical records of the IP being destroyed, as well as all merchandise the film makers could muster up

>extra! extra! the minions are taking over Hollywood. See Minions & Monsters, only in theaters July 1.
>Fresh off the worldwide blockbuster success of summer 2024’s funniest comedy, Despicable Me 4, Illumination expands its joyful animated universe with a riotous new chapter, featuring all-new characters, in the biggest global animated franchise in history: Minions & Monsters.
>This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.

Are the Minions going to give us get a better monster chasing franchise than Fantastic Beasts? 😛
Seriously, the premise sounds unhinged, but fun.

I respect how tastefully over-the-top they’re going with this one.

People keep complaining about these but it gives me opportunities to take my kids out while they are young enough to enjoy this stuff and give them movie theater experiences. I can remember when I was young, I loved it when my Dad took me to movies, even today watching those old cartoons brings back fond memories.

I know these are for kids. But I’m still surprised Minions are still popular now. Like is there no new annoying/funny little creature?

I feel like at this stage the animators behind this stuff have gotten *really good* at wringing the maximum amount of physical comedy out of these things. The clown minion is a good example, it’s just funny animation, and I can’t help but be impressed at how those jokes completely fail if the animation doesn’t work.

I mean, aren’t Minions inherently cosmic horror? They have existed before man, and will likely exist forever beyond them?
