I thought the thumbnail was Laura Dern. That trailer was a wild ride of a bunch of comedic actors I absolutely 100% enjoy.
So I’ll be seeing this for sure.
Saw this at the international film festival of Rotterdam, had no idea who John Early was other than that he was on the off menu podcast. Went in with an open mind, but I absolutely hated every second of this movie. Of course I never saw the trailer and went off a small blurb of text. If I had actually seen the trailer I probably would have avoided it, as it shows everything I hated about it front and center.
I saw this at TIFF last year. Funny, and plays very much like a Hallmark movie (intentionally). Some good laughs, and if you go along with the premise, it’s a fun time.
It’s not a spoiler but the secret is not that John Early’s character is trans. The character is a cis woman.
