The timing required to get the stuntman to hit that big swing from one side of the mall onto a descending elevator is just awesome.
As a kid growing up in the 80s, Schwarzenegger’s action movie run is unfuckwithable. I cut my hair in middle school to look like him in Commando.
Any of his roles in Conan, Predator, Running Man, Commando, Terminator would be career highlights for other actors. Then he pivots and does a turn in comedy with DeVito, when everyone thought he was one-note. Love that dude.

If you watch 48 hours with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte, there’s a similar car chase scene with a similar soundtrack with the same guy.

I feel like this had to have been influenced by Jackie Chan Police Story, or perhaps vice versa. So similar in some ways.
Commando may not be a good movie. But it is a truly excellent bad movie.
man screw anyone that says this movie isn’t great, this is easily one of the top 5 Action movies of all time, simple plot, no drawn out character stuff, just get to the action.
