I mean is anyone under the impression that they will not adapt all the books

If you want to do **any** popular show, give us annual seasons. Waiting two years for an 8-episode season sucks and kills anticipation and interest.

Lol just watch the movies or, gasp, read the books. Why does this exist??

Oh nice, loved the first season!

Edit: Fucks sake, you guys are morons that need jokes spelled out in crayon.

This 100% makes sense and it’s good they’re moving fast on this. The kids are only going to grow up fast and you don’t want a repeat of Stranger things where they’re still in school in their 30s

    6. Internet discourse around this show is not gonna be fun when it comes out

anyone supporting this supports transphobia. there’s no separating the art from the artist when the artist is still alive and using the profits from her work to fund anti-trans legislation in the US and UK

    8. They are going to adapt everything and they can remarket them every like 25 years

I’m sooo glad hacks is ending so I can see how it ends before I get rid of hbo max for making this pile of shit

The last thing I ever wanted from HBO is family friendly content starring literal children.

But once they started scrubbing Real Sex from streaming, I saw the writing on the wall.

The books are not remotely masterpieces and they have nothing interesting to say. So this is genuinely a hollow effects spectacle.

This was never in doubt. A 2 season order for an IP this famous was a given, it’ll be the season 2 numbers that’ll decide if they keep going with this whole endeavor.

Its sort of like the live action One Piece series, two mega IPs based on existing works that are very popular but also incredibly expensive to make, so we might not see the full run of either adaptation.

At least this’ll be a rare blockbuster show that MIGHT actually release annually (as it should).

I mean… they pretty much have to keep up a swift pace compared to most other major shows unless they want the kids to be in their late 20’s by season 4 and still playing 14-15 year olds.

    14. Shouldn’t they film EVERYTHING asap? The lead actor from what I saw already grew a lot.

    15. Would be quite funny if the show was randomly cancelled after say book 4, all that undertaking for nothing

    16. This was never in doubt. It would take some kind of catastrophe for it not to get renewed.

I wish shows would do this more instead of having everyone wait around for years between seasons

Like I lost all interest in stranger things
