When even the law procedurals can’t survive episode cutdowns, you know that means the entertainment world is just completely fucked at this point.

  2. > While they all easily passed the renewal ratings threshold at CBS, Fire Country, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney‘s multi-platform viewership has been more modest than other dramas that have received full-season orders for next season.

Matlock is at least reportedly a creative decision after a major plot was wrapped up.

  3. Just how it is when you’re already $11.5 billion in the hole then decide to add another $70 billion of debt on top of it.

  4. Hate that at least network TV would give us 22 episode seasons and even those even procedural are not even doing that anymore. Not liking where the TV landscape is heading.

  5. All of the Fox cartoons like Family Guy, Bob’s, etc (not sure about Simpsons) are all down to 15 episodes from 22.

Couldn’t care less what CBS does, now that it’s MAGA propaganda. Bye Felisha.

Do they have to bend over backwards with the script in every episode in order to justify why the fuck the NCIS is in lolstraya? Because it makes no fucking sense at all, lmao.

As long as they keep giving me Amazing Race seasons, I don’t give a shit what they do with Generic Crime Procedural #247

  10. Man, I don’t watch a whole lot of CBS anymore, but cutting down the number of episodes in the few that I do watch? Lame as fuck.

  11. I feel like the worst part of reducing episode orders for cable TV shows is they’re still going to find a way to stretch out airing those episodes between September to May.

A streaming death blow. Will be interesting to see what the other big broadcasters do. If SVU does something in the low teens this shit might be over.

  13. Basically the decline of network TV viewership is starting to affect a lot more shows and I hate it.

While streaming does offer a lot of viewer advantages their focus on subscribers and not views is a bad thing IMO. At least with commercial network TV more viewers was more money and you could have a supernatural that got enough viewers every week to make money and run for a long time. I do hate ads but success of a show and profitability being tied to viewers is a good thing. If your metric is more subscribers you may get them in season 1 or 2 and after that as long as they stay subscribers do you still need to keep that show especially if now as subscribers they are watching other things too,.

I like steaming for the on demand portion of things but don’t like the new world of subscriber counts being the metric vs viewers of shows. We’ll see how things work going forward but not liking what I’m seeing so far. I don’t think streaming will ever have a friends, office, mash, supernatural that runs for an ungodly amount of seasons. Not the business model.

CBS can burn in hell after they’ve gone full MAGA with Paramount.

Doesn’t matter. Those shows are all shit and you shouldn’t be watching them anyway. Fuck CBS.
