Still upset that we never got a sequel. I remember seeing this in theaters with a friend, during that time when you didn’t really know much about movies before going into them. What an amazing experience. This and Fury Road are my all time best theater experiences.

Russel Crowe is the king of “Shoulda had a sequel” movies.
Goddamn I love this movie. The books it’s based on (Aubrey-Maturin series) by Patrick O’Brian are incredible as well.

You can visit the Surprise at the San Diego Maratime Museum. It’s still partly done up with props and sets from the film.
This is a phenomenal film. I wish they’d made a sequel. There’s so much material in the book series they could draw from.
