The FCC vs. Disney Lawyers is going to be the next Godzilla vs. King Kong movie.

*a person familiar with the FCC’s thinking said the timing of a review wasn’t directly linked to the Kimmel monologue.*

    SURE.

  3. > President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have both demanded that the broadcaster fire Jimmy Kimmel, the host of ABC’s eponymous late-night show, over a monologue he made two days before a gunman allegedly attempted to assassinate the president and top administration officials at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, in which he said the first lady looked like “an expectant widow.”

And I, as an American citizen, demand that government employee Donald J. Trump be fired as President for posting “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”, which is arguably worse than Kimmel’s joke.

Oh, and for being a pedo.

Carr and most of the administration are exactly what the Founding Fathers were afraid of and warned against. There is not an once of patriotism, American Values, Western Values or basic decency in them. They should be chased from Civil Society to a country that matches their values like Russia

Time for the old media to pull the bandaid and just ditch cable to move to just online platforms

This is so stupid. Way more important matters in the country to worry about than late night free speech.

  7. Remember the names when it turns. Don’t let them fade back into anonymity after trying to destroy our way of life.

All I can think about is Wilson White from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and how giddy he got getting the challenge the FCC in that fictional situation: “I no longer recognize the authority of the FCC.”

And that’s the attitude Disney should have. Under any administration, I would root for taking on the FCC because it’s just not a good regulatory body. But in THIS administration, it feels like you can really maximize impact to reshape the FCC well into the future if this lingers (and it will).

  9. When supposedly independent regulatory agencies become the state’s witch hunt apparatus, you know open corruption has peaked.

Republicans are the biggest babies I’ve ever seen. You could spend days going over all the hateful things Trump has said, but one little quip from a comedian and these losers go nuts. Sad, pathetic little snowflakes.

  11. Let them and defeat it. And then no one has to worry about this particular threat anymore. No Court is going to let the First Amendment be tossed for a joke.
