I remember a similar scene from an unknown movie before this one, where the smaller villain also carries a lot of religious items, but the monster replies that are useless because the smaller villain does not really believe in them.

Later, a kid loses a religious pendant and when the monster arrives the kid tries to pray, but is too scared too remember the whole words, but a light appears and protects the kid, because he really believes.

I thin this scene from the mummy is inspired on the movie I saw …
