That is absolute dynamite casting. Jordon goes without saying. And Butler was great in Caught Stealing.

Kosinski is on fire. Glad this finally got locked in and it’s cool it’s not a modern remake again. Embrace the 80s-ness.

  3. Well the summer dad movie is locked for whatever year that movie releases and I’ll be there day one.

I’ve always loved how important sound design is in Kosinski’s movies, which I really noticed when I went back and rewatched Oblivion.

  4. One of those instances where you see the leads and director and automatically know this will be a hit.

Curious to see who else rounds out the cast for this.

Big hopes for this. I love Michael Mann, but I’m not sure he was the right dude for the job with the last one.

I love the fact that both of these actors are American. It seems like every other role these days are given to the Brits. And I respect that both actors paid their dues whereas every other actor these days are NEPO babies.

I’m really hoping they nail the soundtrack

80s songs, synth, banger after banger

Well it cant be any worse than the remake in the aughts. Although I hear they made Tubbs NB and Crockett’s nasty coke habit is out in the open.

Doing this without Michael Mann’s involvement seems like a huge waste, as does the period setting. Haven’t we had enough 80s nostalgia bullshit?

It’s not even CR month and Chris Ryan stays winning

Now all he needs is Heat 2 to get the formal greenlit and he’ll be levitating.

I think the 80’s setting is a good choice given the director. As much as I want another modern Miami Vice, the 80’s oozes style that Kosinski can work with.

  12. This is going to receive so much more instant praise compared to Mann’s and totally pale in comparison.

Lazy fucks making yet another remake. Kosinski is basically higher value Zach Snyder for me at this point. Movie will have great visuals and sound but everything else is the shallowest shit possible.

  14. > with Dan Gilroy having penned the script

Didn’t know that part. This could be so good.

  15. Detective movies set in the 80s back on the menu?!?!?! You know what I want baby
