  1. I wish we could get more original movies. We don’t need a millionth Beatles doc or some other musician. I say this as someone who likes MJ and the Beatles

  2. I see the review bombing from the critics have already started. The box office numbers will speak for the film! They have been trying to do a hate campaign for weeks now but it will not work.

I feel like Michael Jackson is just one of those ppl too famous to do a biopic of.. its always going to come across cringy and gimicky because so many ppl cosplay as him

  4. I’m surprised cos it seems like a lot of PR is pushing good reviews. Obviously very selective.

I know this is going to make a lot of money, but I genuinely have seen 0 promo. It might be that I’ve just managed to to curate my feeds/algo to the point that nothing regarding jackson comes thru, but I think I’ve seen 1 poster at one of big cineplexes and that’s pretty much it

  6. I saw the trailer at the cinema and it looked rank, although obviously the music was catchy. I can’t separate the artist from his alleged deeds and I literally can’t bring myself to listen to his music but damn, it was good.

  7. Basically the reviews are it’s bland af, essentially a toned down revisionist medium to listen to Michael Jackson music for 2 hours and we don’t get any new insight into MJ with strong performances from Jaafar Jackson and Coleman Domingo

Not really surprising imo but it’s going to make sooooooo much money it’s insane lol
