I like how this is framed as some massive trauma “they could have stopped it” “they let it happen to me” in juxtaposition of this being about him painted like a rock lol

  2. I’m pretty sure in the book he decorates cookies and cakes for the bakery, but the movie camouflage was ridiculous and I love it.

Also the parody of this scene in the starving games was hilarious

I laughed so hard at this in the movie. Reading the book I just imagined he smeared some dirt on his face and brushed some leaves on top of himself or something, there was no reason they had to do this

They establish this silliness but what’s weirder is they never use it again, Peeta would 100% make the camouflage team his ally in the next movie but ofc why use the plot you’ve already built.

Could you imagine a method actor getting told that. Like hey i know you play a baker but what if you were also an expert in body painting yourself like a rock? The director would probably get a dense loaf of burnt sourdough the next day.

I assume that because he made cakes, he was able to decorate them and had skills like that.

I laughed so hard in theaters that I started choking. Fourteen years later and I still laugh super hard every time I see this pic.

I remember seeing it at the cinema and the audience atmosphere had been so tense throughout, and when *that* shot came up on the big screen everyone started laughing in confusion and surprise, I think because you don’t initially realise what you’re looking at. It caught us all off guard but was quite nice to break the tension.

My husband is obsessed with this scene. He literally has a tab open on his phone that’s set to this Google image so he can have immediate access for a laugh
