Regardless of how the movie will be, feels like people are taking a clearly low brow 4/20 joke poster a little too seriously.
Also, “what a timely reference” top comment as if this isn’t one of the more culturally relevant horror movies in the time between the last Scary Movie, so of course they’re going to acknowledge it? That’s the point of the movie

In midsommar there was already drug usage, that was a pretty big part. “Haha what if they were on weed instead” feels sorta lazy. If you’re going to parody Midsommar make it more extreme instead of more tame. I try not to judge a book by its cover but this movie feels like its going to have a maximum of 5 repeated jokes. I want to be wrong because I think a Midsommar parody movie would be fun.

The marketing team took some random picture and tried to cobble together a Midsommar reference using really poor Photoshop skills (I think AI would look better).
If only they’d sat down for ONE afternoon beforehand and come up with a concept before the shoot! But that would mean putting in some effort instead of just churning out a cash grab.

Damn bruh everybody seems to have flipped on this movie lol genuine question is why? Without the cop-out “it looks like a cash grab” (everything is bucko, we live in capitalist america). Is it just the “sorry not sorry” tagline basically? I think it’ll be bad, but like sketch comedy bad. Do I think it’ll be worth it? Sure, to help theaters by showing up at least. To add to the scary movie franchise? Not really, but they usually make fun of the right people I feel like. I saw this and thought “oh it’s midsommar that’s funny” lol
