    >FIGHT! Watch the Official Trailer for #StreetFighterMovie, hitting theaters everywhere October 16.

    >Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!

    >Helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favorite characters.

  2. If anything else, I appreciate them just leaning into this being a completely absurd movie.

This movie looks ridiculous in the best kind of way… If they lean into the absurdity of the Street Fighter universe, I think this will be a fun time.

  4. This seems like a fan film I woulda watched on YouTube about 15 years ago but with the budget of a big box office movie… I will be seated day one.

  5. Looks utterly stupid and exactly what you need for the universe. Can’t wait, definately a switch off the brain and enjoy big dumb movie and the nostalgia it brings.

Looks super fun, Chun-Li looks awesome, special moves from the game look great, kind of surprised how into Noah Centenio as Ken I am now

It looks like they understood exactly what I wanted this movie to be aesthetic-wise.

Looks like they perfectly understand what makes Street Fighter, Street Fighter

  9. The casting choices(and Ken’s hair from SF5) are very uh interesting.

I know for fact Balrog is doing the bare minimum of fighting 😭

  10. Oh this just looks fun! Centering the movie around the relationship of Ryu and Ken is smart, specially with Chung-Li brings to it. And I love the rest of the cast, I’m really looking foward to it

  11. The best kind of video game movie adaptation is one that doesn’t even try to be realistic. Stick to the absurdity and you keep the fans happy. SOMEONE finally learned that lesson.

  12. Okay they are clearly leaning in to the absurdity of street fighter which I enjoy. But I am BAFFLED by the music decision for this trailer.

Say what you will about Mortal Kombat (2021) but the music in that trailer was a slowed down orchestral version of the classic MK Movie Theme, Techno Syndrome, that as the trailer reached it’s the climax, the theme sped up to its original tempo and sound. That’s diving into your legacy.

Why on Gill’s green earth would you open with 2Pac’s Ambitionz Az a Ridah and flip the words to say “I’m a straight fighter”. And that would’ve been fine on its own but then you transition to 4 Non Blondes’s What’s Up? Street Fighter has such a vault of fantastic music that could’ve been rearranged for the trailer (and I have no doubt that it’ll be in the movie) to let fans know “yes, we going full send on this one.”

Anyways, I’m just ranting. Movie looks fun

  13. This movie clearly takes itself the appropriate level of serious, and is so much better for it.
