This means nothing if they aren’t willing to put their money where their mouths are and decline to work for them.

I respect them trying to do something positive, but they need to really have their skin in the game (or out of the game in this case) for it to really make a difference.

Unsure of what an open letter can do but I love how big of a statement this is and I hope the talent behind it is pushing more behind the scenes too

Signing something is like one of those websites where they just want signatures for a cause without doing anything else about it.

For me, they will need to just not accept offers from them for roles.

Ooooooh a strongly worded letter? Will they stop working on Paramount/WB projects and give up their cozy lifestyles?

Why are they supporting a Netflix takeover? Hollywood will die off if they let a streaming provider consume a major studio.

  7. Someone write down these names the next time they appear in a Warner Bros. flick in the future. I know that that ballet-hating Timpany Chevrolet won’t sign it, as his movie Doom 3 will be released by Warner Bros.

If most of them end up working with the studio after this the they are nothing but greedy cowards who won’t be taken seriously again with whatever signed letter comes next

Pedro Pascal and Florence Pugh are the latest actors to condemn Paramount buying Warner Bros. in an open letter that’s now been signed by more than 2,000 Hollywood names. The letter read:

    > “We are deeply concerned by indications of support for this merger that prioritize the interests of a small group of powerful stakeholders over the broader public good. The integrity, independence, and diversity of our industry would be grievously compromised.”

    > “Competition is essential for a healthy economy and a healthy democracy. So is thoughtful regulation and enforcement. Media consolidation has already weakened one of America’s most vital global industries—one that has long shaped culture and connected people around the world.”

  10. “How can I get my name in the news for some free publicity? What’s going on right now in the world that I can attach my name to? Im really jonesing and feel itchy all over.”

This is the problem with everything right now… People just want to shout from the rooftops about things that suck but when they are handed shovel, nail, and hammer they say “No thanks!” Nobody wants to build or fix anything they just want to complain about it.
