  1. They are replacing it with literal paid programming. I called it that they would just air Comics Unleashed but didn’t anticipate that Byron Allen would pay them for the privilege

I love stand up and the concept is cool but anytime I’ve caught Byron Allen’s shows, it’s third rate comics and they’re all hacky. Just my opinion.

  3. I don’t who this replacement guy is, but I’m never going to find that out or ever watch him on general principle.

  4. No that’s not it. They don’t want to offend the orange one or he would do something stupid like revoke their broadcasting license.

It’s long established that reality bullshit is stupidly cheap to produce and the idiot public eats it up.

  6. We’re long past the days of Johnny Carson anyway. If Late Night Shows in their current format are dying, let them die.

  7. The nets are hoping that terrestrial tv remains relevant for a while longer. Twenty years ago the idea that there would be an alternative to the broadcasters was unthinkable. They thought they were untouchable.

I’ll bet they’d love to be out of it if they could find a buyer, but nobody wants terrestrial tv just now.

Who knows ? Maybe a new tech will emerge and make the channels (as) valuable again.
