“The Legend of Billie Jean” (1985): While most remember Helen Slater for playing Supergirl, more should be aware of her anarchic, fierce turn as Billie Jean. Pat Benatar, Lisa Simpson and Christian Slater as her brother, it’s a film worth finding out.

It takes place in my hometown of Corpus Christi, TX which is a really lame city on the water. Apparently in the 1980s they thought this city was on the way up. This movie and SELENA are it’s only claims to fame. My Highschool Spanish teacher was Christian Slaters tutor on this film, she had photographs of them on set all over her classroom.

Oh man that is 80s awesomeness. I remember her from The Secret of My Success, City Slickers, and Ruthless People. Great role in The Secret of My Success alongside Michael J Fox. More 80s awesomeness there.

That title gave me an aneurysm.

Pat Benetar is not in this movie
she simply recorded the theme song
in fact:
>Pat Benatar hated The Legend of Billie Jean and let people know it. Before launching into “Invincible” in concert, she often said, “This is from one of the worst movies ever made.” Rumor has it, the movie took so long to get a DVD release because the singer refused to sign off on the rights.

Fierce, anarchic, and totally unforgettable.
