About time. Sony has been failing upwards in the box office for some time now

    2. Yeah the Death of TV is really screwing Hollywood

It’s their own fault, in their arrogance and looking for a quick buck they liscened their products to Netflix thinking it was just a dumb nerdy internet thing. It destroyed normal TV and DVDs. In a very short amount of years.

And it was. At the time. They made a horrible mistake. Oh well, can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Suspect high-salary executives who made poor management decisions aren’t getting touched.

    4. I’m curious if Sony is exploring the possibility of selling off its entertainment division, especially after what WB just got. I’d have to assume Netflix is in the market for Spider-Man and Ghostbusters

Edit: As the comments have pointed out, it’s unclear if Spider-Man would be included in any Sony sale. They also have Men in Black, Jumanji, and a handful of other franchises for what that’s worth

Don’t worry, we’ll still get plenty of bad Spider-Man spinoffs

As much as Sony sucks at making some movies, I hope they don’t sell. Even more of a monopoly in Hollywood/TV will mean the end of it within a decade.

They have Spider-Man and Jumanji both coming out this year that together will likely net $2.5-$3 billion between them. Fuck these greedy corporate hacks.

    8. Bummer. Their animation division has been on a heater lately. Needed a top-level sweep and some folks who could really use those resources. Not layoffs.

    9. The executives caused this. They screwed up the spiderverse and sold Kpop which is a 1B ip for 20m.

They should sell themselves to Netflix now that NFLX walked away from WB.
