NASA’s statement on Twitter:
>> Make new friends, but keep the old. A new photo captures the Moon's near side on the right (the side we see from Earth, identifiable by its dark splotches) and its far side on the left. The Artemis II crew are the first to see the far side with human eyes.

It’s so perfect, it almost doesn’t look real.

I feel like I’ve seen something I wasn’t supposed to 🫣
This is so cool
First humans ever to see the dark side with their eyes? What about the Apollo 13 crew?
This just looks like a transition shot from Survivor LMAO
Its incredible.
This is perfection.
Where’s the dark side image?
Nice.
The crew asking for one of the craters to be named after Reid’s late wife had me crying my eyes out 😭

All I see is a slim line of craters
Huge fan of The Dark Side Of The Moon

There’s no dark side of the moon, really. Matter of fact, it’s all dark.
I really hope another moon landing happens. I’ll be so excited. It’s been a while.
That is one of those photos that makes space feel both beautiful and unreal at the same time.
