Megan Thee Stallion speaks out after exiting ‘Moulin Rogue!’ mid-performance last night: “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough… Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down 🥺”

I’m glad she didn’t push herself any more than she already did. That is scary, even just the thought of passing out and hitting your head or something. Take care Meg!!

Broadway is really, really hard. Depending on the show, you can get thousands of steps in on top of recalling weeks of training to sing, dance, and act for 2+ hours straight. Depending on your role, breaks can be minimal. Drinking too much water means you might need to fight your way out of your costume to pee and then slide back into it within, say, 3 minutes between scenes. AND you have to do this all EIGHT TIMES A WEEK—some days having two performances. Even if you’re in killer shape like Meg, the anxiety of being on Broadway for the first time can get you. I’ve got a lot of grace for her.

Thank goodness she’s okay 🥺🙏🏽 I was worried after that tweet asking for prayers from the hospital and immediately thought about how hard she’s been going nonstop. She’s achieved so much, now I hope she’ll let herself breathe ❤️

I’m glad she is listening to her body and get the rest that she needs. Meg’s been busy a lot lately which is great for her, but she and so many black women (myself included) tend to overdue it and give it our all with everything before taking a break. Rest is necessary for longevity and the Hotties will always be here for her.

Honestly, I get why she’s coming back so soon when a lot of people probably paid just to see her, but one day off doesn’t seem like enough. Hope she’s able to take an extended break at some point.

  6. I’ve been there. Not on Broadway, but a nightly performance-based role. I had been pushing myself for a while and one day I just rushed out right before it started. I hit the sidewalk and started sobbing. Quit soon after. Too much is too much!!

Something similar happened to Ariana Madix when she did her Chicago run. NO shade at all when I say this, but Broadway is incredibly exhausting and you need years of exposure for your body to be able to handle it fully and get used to it. I feel bad for celebrities and artists when this happens because the practice runs are nothing like being on stage, the energy is 10x more electric and you can burn out FAST especially when its back to back shows. I think there should be some kind of requirement to start practices and maybe even be involved in dress rehearsals the season *before* youre going to be a part of the main cast. It ain’t for the weak and I commend Meg for even getting out there!

only celebs have to go to hospital to take a nap. I cant imagine the pressure shes under but girl you gotta take care of yourself first!

One day is crazy girl at least take a week off. I’m not even the biggest fan of Megan Thee Stallion but I feel like celebrities and music artists in general always feel like they need to push themselves for the sake of art and it’s like girl you’re still a human being REST

  10. See this is why it kind of bothers me when non-Broadway people go “the Broadway”, even the most talented people are likely not prepared for what is one of the most difficult jobs of all time (no wonder theater folk can be annoying, it’s because they’ve been working 12 hours straight)
