that’s a rough opening for a movie. was the marketing that bad, or was it just the concept not hitting?

I hadn’t heard about it until it came out, and it was going up against Ready or Not 2, which is too similar in tone and story, but comes with brand recognition. Not surprised sadly.

Should appeal to anyone that likes non stop action + a little cheese.

This is the type of movie I would see but not one I’d pay for 😅.

I liked it better than Ready or Not 2.
Wasn’t expecting all that it was insane

I really meant to watch this yesterday, but wound up fighting fire ants and shoveling 32 cubic feet of dirt in the garden instead. Dear producers: please don’t stop casting Zazie Beetz in stuff!

So at a time of world despair a movie about senseless violence and killing and fear goes up against a movie that makes people laugh, makes thinking look cool and fills them hope and courage.
Just look at history, movies during the Depression were all happy movies.

The shitty thing is that it’s actually very different from Ready or Not stylistically, but the basic premise is so similar that people just wrote it off

“They will kill you” would have been the perfect $5 matinee movie. But now matinee movies are like $10-12, so there’s no way I’m going to blow that much on a movie if it sucks. I’m too poor for that, and I assume others are in the same boat

This is karma for all the annoying YouTube ads for the film!

I guess her luck only applies to Deadpool movies

It clearly did not have the advertising Budget ready or not did, much less PHM. I saw a trailer for it and didn’t know when it was playing. Huge zazie beetz fan and everything.

Great movie. Cribs a little too much from Tarantino in terms of the blood effects but the effects are GOOD + several excellent and creative fight scenes and at least two very funny body horror comedy bits.
The story is whatever but it really doesn’t matter – the movie wastes almost no time on it.

If watching a movie with Zazie Beatz trapped in a building fucking people up is your thing, this is right up your alley.

Bummer. I enjoyed this much more than ready or not 2

It just looked like such a paint by numbers film, I’ll just wait for it to come to streaming.
