  1. AI is for stupid people with no talent whatsoever

And lazy executives, which is usually one and the same.

    Edit: found one

Disney will just move on to another AI product. Studio heads don’t care about anything but profit.

I think the title from this article is too hopeful. If you go on YouTube you can find a bunch of ai generated Star Wars “films” with millions of views and comments talking about how much better AI is than JJ Abrams lol.

  4. I have a theory that this was Disneys plan all along. They could sue them and win. But realized that people already hate AI and decided to give the company enough rope to hang themselves with.

Such a brain-dead take away. Sora was a shitty, restrictive product that was out-competed by far better gen-AI video models. No professional artists were actually using Sora in their workflow on shows. Open AI made the awful decision to turn Sora into a meme-machine rather then a tool that serious artists would want to use. AI tools are not endangering jobs. AI tools are not replacing traditional film production. They are great tools to use strategically to reduce costs in motion graphics, titles, b-roll and VFX work. A job that used to take us a week can now be done in an hour.

The people who write these articles have no actual idea what’s going on on the street level. Everyone is using the tools – on big shows – shows you watch and love.

  6. Yes, one AI video generator being shut down out of the dozen or so that still exist, and some of which are better than Sora, is an indication that it can never work. These anti-AI people are coming across as a little insane right now. Sora shutting down is one of the most insignificant “victories” ever for anyone who knows anything about AI. Seedance and Nano Banana are just as good and even better, especially Seedance, and they’re doing fine.

Im glad and all but last thing I’d want to do is hand wave at AI and try to act like it isn’t advancing at a frightening pace. Give it a couple of more years, a bubble burst and economics to settle then it’s here to linger forever.

I 100% thought this was related to Kingdom Hearts before clicking on the article.

Nonsense. AI will be humanity’s last invention. If you don’t see that, you’re living in denial.

  10. I think we pulled the trigger far too early. What i mean is we got our toes in the water, figuratively, and went all in. 15 years from now we may be back to having the ai bubble, but that’ll be because its true agi. Not “well in very specific cases (with a human operator) it can keep up”. That’s not agi. Shit its not even intelligence, let alone artificial. A long enough talk with one can prove that. As for world models, and other forms of AI, I feel that isn’t in this conversation, because in this day and age when we think ai we think gpt, Claude, deep seek, and gemini. Glorified chat bots.

Dreaming if you think this is the end of anything. The idea is just too alluring for anyone to pass up for long. They’ll pivot to another product and start again.

  12. bro we all know that AI is just this deacde cash grab, before AI we had the NFT’s , and before NFT’s we had the crypto scams

  13. I think we’d have to be pretty naive to believe that this is the end of commercial AI video generation.
