that’s a bummer, was hoping to see some buzz around it at Cannes. but i’m still curious about what Spielberg’s cooking up with this one.

I think that’s because film critics at Cannes probably will think it’s just okay, and he’d rather just wait for a full theatrical release to get a bigger opening weekend. Spielberg is also a big enough name that he doesn’t need any buzz from Cannes, so it could only hurt the film if it gets bad WoM.
