I presume that this season will cover the mars base becoming more stable and people existing on the moon, mars and earth being a normality in culture and then next season will hopefully round everything off

I loved the first few seasons but I tapped somewhere in season 4 I think.

I gotta say though, 6 seasons (and a spinoff) of this is quite a feat

I’d love for all mankind to continue indefinitely and have humanity face continually crazier problems as we expand in the solar system. But six years of a show with this scope is a real achievement.

Glad to see they’ll get a chance to finish the story. I believe the intention was always to finish it in the present day, so presumably this’ll take us up to 2027/28.

Bets on the show ending with First Contact?

  5. So the final season will be in the 2020s. Was really hoping they’d go beyond that (especially as RDM had mentioned they originally planned for seven seasons).

  6. I really wish this show was better but driving most of the naritive of these extremely complex challenges from the characters being too sad to just do the thing is so tiring.

I thought 5 was already going to be the end. If there was a 7th it would be Ed’s brain in a jar finding the protomolecule.

  8. Begin production tomorrow and maybe it’s released early 2028.

Season 4 came to a close January 2024.

    January 2024 ffs.

  9. I hope the new seasons will get better and finish strong. I loved the first season, but my love for the show has waned as the series has gone on. I didn’t particularly enjoy the fourth season. It wasn’t terrible, but I had a hard time getting invested in the story.

  10. Well the creators did say the show would be 6 or possibly 7 seasons, so I’m glad they got that.

  11. So, taking bets as to how they keep Ed alive? Head in a jar, brain uploaded into a computer, weekend at Ed’s?

I enjoyed the first two seasons but sort of fell off waiting for season 3. How has the last few seasons been?

Really a great series of the early streaming era. One that rewards you if you stick with it. Like old school tv.

I tapped out when the wife banged her dead son’s friend but happy the fans get a conclusion!

  15. im so glad FAM is getting a final season and not just randomly cancelled. one more season should end it in 2020’s

  16. I stopped when the mom of the dead kid ended up banging her sons close family friend.

    Im good.

  17. i wish the series keep going to the point were we start to see starships like the enterprise from ST:ENT

Ever since Deadwood’s cancelled 4th season, I try to let serial shows go the distance before I watch them. If they end well (fully and fans like it), I’ll watch. This saved me from “Lost.” I’ve been weak and gotten sucked in by others like “Heroes,” but I’ve been holding off on this show for that reason. Hope it ends well.

Honestly I would have been happy with a 2069 end date, the idea we get to see this world for 100 years feels good. By season 3 it already felt like it was moving beyond scope a bit with how close they were to our own time.

  20. i was hoping with them discovering subspace or something…

Imagen you always send letters and someone invents the radio, but as soon as he turns it on he can hear all the other people broadcasting.

one of the fermi paradox solutions is that basically theres tons of aliens transmitting around us, our physics hasnt allowed us yet to reach the medium they transmit on.
