Chappell Roan addresses Jorginho controversy: “The security guard is not my personal security. I didn’t even see a woman and a child — no one came up to me, no one bothered me. I did NOT ask the security guard to talk to them. It’s unfair for security to assume someone doesn’t have good intentions.”

I am shocked, *shocked* to learn that people ran with a baseless accusation against Roan

I personally think Jorginho putting her on blast is classless without exhausting the options he has as an already very privileged person. He had the option to reach out to her personally and privately and give her a chance to give her account if she wanted to.

So… all that happened was a guy from a hotel told a mom to not let her child wander around their dining area?

Security guard really jumped the gun there Chappell handled it with way more grace than most celebs would in that situation.

This entire situation seems incredibly overblown. The security guard probably overreacted but the people on the other side are acting like Chappell committed a crime. Nobody is entitled to attention from a celebrity, even if it’s a kid 🤷🏾‍♀️

  6. I feel like a lot of this could’ve been easily avoided with a simple conversation…

Wow, the hotel messed up? But why would a random security guard do that? It’s a rich people hotel and the kid was so gracious that Chappell didn’t even see her. Jorginho seems to have overreacted but it could’ve been just out of his parental instinct so I’m not going to say too much about him, considering it’s the first time he’s done something like this. But obviously you’d assume it’s her security guard because they’re both rich and why would the hotel security harass their guests??? I wonder if Jorginho and his wife can take action with the hotel?

  8. god I KNEW this would be the case, people are already running with the “I always knew she was shitty” narrative because people are always waiting for a reason to cancel this woman because they already decided the don’t like it and it’s honestly so stupid.

are restaurant or hotel security guards even allowed to just go upto anyone and reprimand them? like they are customers too

  10. Wow but everyone was saying she’s so mean though? Crazy how women, especially queer women, are guilty until proven innocent.

I’ve said this before but people always go out of their way to find problems with this woman. I believe in many cases it’s media planted retaliation because she doesn’t play the game. Regular people on Reddit and Instagram are conditioned through rumors like this one to believe people don’t deserve privacy. This story is also a great example of “playing telephone” and how misinformation is amplified through social media.

She’d be fully justified in licensing her catalog like Enya and then retiring. Which would be a shame, because I’m interested in seeing more from her, but fame is trauma and stan behavior is cancer. This whole situation reminds me of being a kid in school, and never being able to have anything fun because the bad kids were always acting up.

I feel like the truth is somewhere is in the middle.

It is possible that she had no idea about this and didn’t direct them to do this. It’s also possible security did this because they thought this is what she would want.

  14. People always assume the worst of celebrities lmao. In the first place, I would 100% believe that Chappell Roan would be too unbothered to notice the woman and child. The security guard’s job is to spot “threats” and in this case, they were too harsh to the kid.
