“I lived a very sad situation with my family earlier.
My wife is in São Paulo for Lollapalooza Brazil. This morning, my daughter woke up extremelly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist that she admires, or admired, greatly. Chappel Roan.
By coincidence, they are staying in the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist passed by their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her and was excited, and wanted to make sure that it was her.
And do you know what’s worse, she didn’t even approached the artist. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked at her to confirm it was her, smiled and returned to the table with her mother. She didn’t said anything, nor did she asked for anything.
What happened afterwards was completely disproportionate. A big security man went to their table while they were having breakfast and started to speak in an extremelly agressive manner to my wife and daughter, saying that she shouldn’t allow my daughter to “disrespect” ou “harass” other people.
Sincerely, I don’t know how walking past a table and looking at someone can be considered harassment. Then, he said he would file a complaint against them in the hotel, while my 11 year old daughter cried in the table. My daughter was very scared and cried a lot.
I have lived for many years with football, with exposure, with famous people, and I know very well what is respect and limit. What happened there wasn’t it. It was merely a child admiring someone. It’s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from someone who should understand the worth that fans have. In the end, they are the ones who build everything.
I sincerely hope that this serves as a reflection. No one should have to experience this, let alone a child.

Unfortunately it just happens to be the step-kid of one of the greatest modern day players that plays the world’s most popular sport for one of the world’s most popular teams, in one of the most fiercely nationalist countries on the planet.
