I remember seeing the trailer for this and thinking it looked good but then zero recollection of it actually getting released. Was it buried by the studio or panned by critics or something?

If you are reading my comment and you haven’t seen this movie, then log off right now and seek it out. It’s a truly great movie. Worth it for the production design alone, where every room feels so specific to which character occupies it. McAdams gives an insanely great performance as well, and all of the kids are fantastically cast. It made me and my wife cry

PS, I still feel Rachel McAdams should have received a Supporting Actress Oscar nod for this movie, and it should have received an Adapted Screenplay nomination.

As an adult male I absolutely loved this movie and the way it handled religion. Margaret’s self journey into finding what she believes instead of just accepting what is forced upon her is fascinating. The movie neither praises religion or trashes it. Everybody has something that works for them and this is one girl looking for what she can believe in
