I know it’s marketing, but it’s hilarious that someone was like “Let’s animate a 30 second clip to display our new font and logo. People are gonna lose their shit!”

I like to think that somewhere at Paramount there’s an old school Jack Warner type who spends his nights staring off into the middle distance, drinking scotch and completely unable to reconcile his experience of reality with the fact that Sonic the Hedgehog just *keeps* printing money.

Honestly, I would love for a split timeline/worlds plot if we’re introducing Metal Sonic and Amy. I had an idea I posted here months ago and would still love to see it happen.
Agent Stone after seeing Eggman’s broadcast starts walking off and toward a pier pissed off that his best friend died, Sonic was the reason for it (that he knows of) and while monologuing about getting revenge is doing the opposite and about to jump into a river to kill himself. But then stops when he realizes he could get revenge on Sonic and begins laughing like Eggman.
Then you could smash cut to Amy saving Sonic in the forest and teleporting him away to safety as the Metal Sonic Prime arrives and begins kicking their ass. She tells us she’s from the future in Sonic’s homeworld and the Metal Sonics have caused an apocalypse there, killing almost everyone minus her small Resistance Freedom Fighters. She asks Sonic for help who obliges. Team Sonic assembles and they go off to the future.
A third subplot is Shadow waking up in ash and cinders around him. He sees the ship he pushed away to save Earth blown apart but then the landscape beyond it also decimated. He realizes he’s been thrusted into future again and Eggman reveals himself to be alive. Stating in the nanosecond before their pending death he realized with Shadow’s Chaos Control and Super-yness flowing into the station he could shield them both using it *and* teleport the immediate area around them to the planet… but the Chaos Control ended up making it go wonky, so whoops they’re in the future on Earth with nobody left alive.
You then have Stone in the past’s story showing him retrieving Sonic’s Quill stash that Eggman secretly had and begins learning/studying Eggman’s notes and a prototype skeleton body for a new weapon. Stone finishes it and creates Metal Sonic Prime.
All 3 stories converge after the above reveal with Stone in the future Sonic Homeworld becoming Dr. Stone (his imitating of Dr. Eggman, outfit, cheesy mustache and all) and the leader of the Metal Sonic Army that Amy’s RFF have been fighting and losing against. Stone accomplished what Eggman failed to do and finished his work on Metal Sonic, killed Team Sonic and Earth, then came to rule Sonic’s Homeworld as his final vengeance.
We then get Shadow and Eggman on future Earth seeing Future Stone broadcasting this across every screen and then find Sonic’s bag of rings stashed at Tom’s ruined house. They then jump over and join Team Sonic and the RFF to fight against Future Stone and the Metal Sonics.
Climax of the movie could be Eggman revealing though he saw Stone as his BFF… he never actually treated him as one but sees now they could’ve been equals and accomplished everything together. But seeing Stone do it alone pisses him off and steals one of Amy’s time jumping devices and leaves.
Smash cut back to the opening of the movie where Stone is monologuing about getting revenge while acting as if he’s about to jump in the water but Eggman teleports in, grabs him off the ledge and talks him down.
The future then begins ceasing to exist and Amy asks Sonic to come see her in their time because there was something else he needed to know if they survived. The RFF and apocalypse futures vanish as Team Sonic teleports back to present day seeing Eggman/Stone together and get arrested.
Post-credits is Sonic going to see Amy and trying to explain everything and Amy then reveals that because future Amy disrupted their future and timeline, she created a new destined doomsday. Heralded by a powerful being who oversees it. Then shows him etched carvings on a wall in a cave depicting Silver The Hedgehog and something translated to “Solaris”.
Another post-credit can be a hand reaching out from a smoking crater in the forest from the start of the movie where Amy saved Sonic, revealing a Metal Sonic minion survived and a backup of Metal Sonic Prime’s consciousness is installed after being transmitted to it from the future just before it ceased to exist, bringing him to present day.
