    >Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are dispatched from Santiago to Easter island by their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi). Amongst the Island’s iconic statues, and as the longtime partners wrestle with their dark pasts and present conspiracies, Chris’s newfound bond with a pair of rebellious students (Mariana di Girolamo and Ailín Salas) threatens to send everyone’s trip to this remote paradise sideways.

  2. McDonagh is one of the best writer/directors working today and I’ll watch anything he does.

  3. Now that Martin McDonagh has clearly established himself as a trusted screenwriter and director, I hope one day we will get screen adaptations of some of his older stage works. Would kill for a film version of The Pillowman or The Lieutenant of Inishmore

  4. Theres a new McDonagh movie?!? Oh hell yes! its also got Sam Rockwell again? Fuck yes!

  5. Banshees is one of my favourite movies of the decade, this trailer looks great too

  6. Martin McDonagh is the best writer/director of our time. I’m definitely in for this one.

Nolan and Tarantino are great, but it’s McDonagh for me. He’s got some super dark content, presented with witty, quick humor. Kind of like Tarantino, but less verbose/presentational — McDonagh is more snappy, like Mamet.

    In Bruges

    Seven Psychopaths

    3 Billboards

    Banshees

and that’s not including his MASSIVE, award-winning playwright list! Some absolutely incredible plays, such as **Lieutenant of Inishmore**, which was nominated for a Tony award with Domhnall Gleeson. Or **Pillowmen**!

Those two plays combined to become the movie Seven Psychopaths.

And he wrote **The Beauty Queen of Leenane** which has one of the most insane and tragic endings ever.

I highly recommend people go read his plays, too!

    WHOAH! 🤯

The catastrophically under-utilised Parker Posey, the wonderfully HD Stanton-esque Tom Waits, with legendary character actor Steve Buscemi AND THE ONE AND ONLY Sam Rockwell! AND IT APPEARS TO BE SET IN THE 60s or 70s!!!!!! 😵

  8. I love everything about this poster and the casting I don’t even know anything about the movie, but I’m gonna go watch it

  9. Parker Posey working with McDonagh should result is something pretty fantastic. Same with Buscemi and Malkovich.
