Really happy to see MBJ’s come-up to this moment! He & Coogler are an undeniable duo, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store next

Lisan Al Gaib was not the chosen one.

I saw him first in Fruitvale Station back in 2013 and thought he’d win the Oscar one day.
The day has come. Congrats. Phenomenal and hard role he pulled off.

Timmy will get his one day, but boy am I surprised he didn’t win this one, wow. Big fucking congrats to MBJ!

Great win but if Timmy didn’t win for this role idk if he would win for another lol

Michael A. Jordan snubbed 🤦🏼♂️

Do I think he deserved it this year? No
Was he damn good? Yes
Am I happy with this? Yes

Congratulations to the Jordan twins.

As much as I’m delighted for Michael and Sinners (huge win for the movie) and fully aware of the strong competition this year, man, it really feels like Ethan Hawke could be the only nominee in each and every category and the Academy would still find a way to not give him the award.

I mean that’s just ridiculous. Hawke, Leo, Wagner, Chalamet, and Plemons were all better.

Lets gooooooo michael, yea I was rooting for Wagner (being Brazilian and all) but this year was STACKED so it was a pleasure to just be there between those other giants

People will be weird about this one, and while I won’t lie, he was my fourth favorite, I’m still extremely happy for him. It’s kinda the anti-Sean Penn win there, so I appreciate it

I hope people know that winning this award means that his performance will be compared to other winners and critiqued for what it was.
I love Michael, I think he’s incredibly charismatic and I love how passionate he is about his interests (he’s the goat for being so openly loving of anime and its tropes)
I personally don’t think his role in the movie was deserving of this award. And although I know it won’t be the case, I truly wish we could have a genuine conversation as to why without it devolving into name calling for no reason other than his skin color.

Honestly has to be the weakest best actor winner in memory. Very solid movie, solid performance, but best actor winning performance….? No.
This feels like black panther getting nominated for best picture lol.
Good for MB Jordan, seems like a decent enough guy. Big accomplishment

Rami Malek level of bad win. 4th or 5th best in the category wins out of pity lol
