No. It was a test to find a pure heart. Charlie passed the test when he gave back the everlasting gobbstopper. He chose to do the right thing. This was exactly who Willy wonka was looking for. Someone who wasn’t there for money and could’ve had anything he wanted by selling the gobbstopper to slugworth, instead he gave it up because he knows right from wrong.
