Universal Pictures is extending their theatrical windows for all of their films. Theaters will now get a minimum of 5 weekends exclusivity which will be increased to 7 weekends in January 2027.

I thought it’s going from 3 to 5 not 5 to 7
omg this is actually really good for theaters! i miss when movies stayed longer in cinemas instead of rushing to streaming after like 3 weeks.
After it has been working so well for Disney I was shocked it took other studios this long.
