Seeing Wart and Mouser back in the mix is so good, I want them in more games in the future (plus the rest of the SMB2 bosses). Having seen him now though, and the rumours of Wario being in it… I’m thinking there was some kind of miscommunication/red herring and Wart’s the fella working with Bowser Jr, not Wario.

It’s fun how much they jampack these movies full of elements from across the franchise. Instead of spreading it thin to save material for more sequels, they cram a ton in here from several games. It makes it more enjoyable to me than the Sonic approach, even though they’re both middling kids movies at the end of the day.

from the original game’s cover. There’s still “M, R, G, and Y”, but they took the sparklies off of the other letters.
For those that do not know, the original game’s cover had little twinkles on specific letters in the title. U and R from Super on the top line, M and R from Mario on the second line, and G, A, and Y from Galaxy in the bottom line, leading to a “You Are Mr. Gay” message.
Do I think that they literally meant to do that? No, but people surely saw it and had a little giggle.
Now it is gone.
