there’s nothing i find grosser that someone who sounds nice just so that they can accuse you of being unreasonable
it’s giving “look everyone, i’m so kind and understanding, the other side is just overreacting”

Look I don’t know what really happened but if he doesn’t want them to post him, then they shouldn’t post him. I don’t think that’s a lot to ask.

they’re proving his point that they care more about their image than anything else.

Performative bs so they can keep up the Brand Beckham Loving Family facade.

There is this shift in things where people will choose public over private and I wish it was just celebs like The Beckhams but social media has given platforms for everyone to do this sort of thing. People will choose public social media posts like this to pretty much pressure quick reconciliation than handling things privately, accepting things will take time and working on themselves in the mean time. Not to mention the manipulative nature of it, where public appearances matter more than actually putting in the work.

What the fuck.
I didn’t really pick a side but I hate the Peltz family because they are billionaires who literally introduced Trump to Elon so they’re evil… but damn this is a blatant disregard of Brooklyn’s wishes. And they posted so many photos, not just a single slide.

I’m sure this is not easy for them, and I’m sure like any parent it’s tough to not acknowledge a child’s birthday, but it probably is for the best they just let him be for now. I don’t envy their position, but sometimes you just have to let people do what they’re going to do.

As someone who has cut off her father completely and is currently no contact with her mother, I cannot fathom how frustrating it would be to have spoken how I feel about our relationship and then have my parents, in my opinion, weaponizing their public image against me.
Because I think most people see this and think “how could he possibly be upset with them, or have any issues?”. Whereas I see this and I think this is manipulative. This is about controlling the public narrative.

I’m estranged from my parents and they do this shit too. It’s so preformative and annyoing, I can’t imagine have millions of eyes on it too.

And here come people saying “you see, they’re wishing him happy birthday, they’re not the problem, it’s their son that’s the problem”

notice how they can’t tag him bc he has them blocked

I feel like regardless of what one thinks of Brooklyn (failson😂) he did explicitly ask them to stop mentioning him in the public forum of their social media. Like the least they could do was send him a text or card or something and posted nothing on socials

Didn’t he just say he didn’t want his parents doing this? And yet, here they are. The Beckham brand can never take a day off, smh.

Nah, this is toxic as fuck. I know to people who’ve never experienced a dysfunctional family dynamic that this could just look like two loving parents reaching out, but doing it so publicly is performative and completely disrespecting his boundaries. I don’t doubt they love him but this was posted for them not him.

It’s funny how they can’t seem to take this off social media.
Maybe it would have been a news story if they hadn’t posted anything? So if it was going to be a story either way, they chose the friendlier-looking option.

As someone whose estranged parents also publicly post their pictures on social media to garner sympathy, I feel for Brooklyn. It’s so uncomfortable.

I don’t trust Brooklyn and Nicola at all, but Brooklyn did specifically ask his parents to stop doing this kind of thing and it seems like a pretty obvious example of them disregarding his boundaries.

Awkward after the last thing Brooklyn posted. The more they don’t take his wishes seriously, the longer Brooklyn will not reconcile with them.

I’ve been really disappointed in the discourse around him calling him ungrateful etc. Yes he’s a nepo baby but that doesn’t mean he should put up with abuse from his parents. Nobody cuts parents off for no reason. They refuse to listen to his wishes publicly, who knows what else has happened behind the scenes.
