  1. I haven’t seen it since the 90s but it was always airing on one of the pay cable channels. Loved this movie. I imagine it won’t hold up as much as it once did when I was really young but I really should track it down again.

  2. I always thought this was a fine, enjoyable, feel-good rainy day movie that got some unfair bad reviews. Its not reinventing the wheel, but it is very pleasant i think

I’ve got this iconic photo up with a mod art poster proclaiming ‘The Festival of Book.’ https://allenginsberg.org/2021/04/m-a-19-3/

  4. The St. Crispin’s Day speech still sticks out in my head after decades of not seeing this movie.

  5. Man, Devito has played so many crazy characters, especially over the last decade or two. Playing Frank on Its Always Sunny, etc.

It’s easy to forget what a good actor he really is.

I feel like the same thing happens to Christopher Walken. He’s so known for being wacky and over the top; the way he talks, his mannerisms, all that. You forget sometimes how good he really is.

  6. Fun fact: after an initial, poorly received release, this movie was rereleased in Washington state just three months later and under a different title, “By the Book.”

I was really confused as a kid because I had already seen the movie under the original name, and this is one of the most useless pieces of trivia I know.

Fun fact: Danny DeVito’s daughter in this movie is played by Alanna Ubach. She would eventually play Frank Reynolds’ “pretty woman” Roxy in *It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.*
