US moving pregnant immigrant girls to Texas to avoid providing abortions, critics say. Ex-official calls transfer of unaccompanied girls as young as 13, many pregnant due to rape, a human rights violation.

  1. JFC the reporting from the detention centers fills me with dread and desperation. Like, I wish I could just show up and get everyone out of them

  2. However people debate immigration or abortion, the people at the center here are children who’ve already been through trauma .. freaking breaks my heart!!!

  3. “The children kept in Texas are as young as 13, and about half are pregnant because of rape.”

The most evil nation on the planet. Jesus Christ. All of these MFers need to get Nuremberg’d at some point.

  5. When is the UN going to step in? It’s wild to think that any other country, there’s action from around the world. The U.S. does it, and it seems like crickets from the world stage.

The idea that immigrant people are not just at risk of deportation but actively disenfranchised because of the limited recognition of their rights by the federal and state governments needs to be more spread in the conversation.

Many people that might think “oh, it’s just about relocating them to another country” should understand this, and, frankly, after the enactment of family separation this cruelty should have been better understood by everyone as the Trump administration’s aim.

    > The typical age of pregnant unaccompanied minors is 15 or 16, though they can be even younger, White said. “They’re not grown women. They’re little girls,” he said. Because of their young age, “many of them will be comparatively high-risk pregnancies” who need specialized care – yet it’s not clear whether the south Texas facility, which is hours away from major cities, is equipped to offer that care.

They are hoping that these children die in childbirth. I will repeat they are hoping these* **children**die in childbirth*.

This is beyond horrifying. What the actual fuck. How can we stop this!

  9. Jesus fucking Christ this might be the bleakest and most disturbing headline I’ve seen in a while and that’s saying so much right now

  10. Hope they have DNA samples of all the ICE employees manning this facility for future paternity tests.
