> The film, starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, is set for theatrical release via the distributor on August 7.
> Dubbed a “new kind of horror remake,” the trailer gives fans a peek into the highly stylized world created by director Jane Schoenbrun; “If it get’s too real,” Anderson’s voiceover says, “you can always turn it off.” Spooky!
> The film is set to follow a young director (Einbinder) enthusiastic about resurrecting the Camp Miasma slash franchise after “years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom,” the official logline reads. “But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear and delirium.”
> The film is the third from Schoenbrun, who wrote and directed “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair” in 2021 and “I Saw the TV Glow” in 2024.
> In addition to Einbinder and Anderson, the film’s cast includes Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald and Jack Haven.

Some of the backgrounds remind me of the animated sequence from *Beau is Afraid*. Definitely been very big on JS’s last two films so I’m excited for this.

I wish Jean would do another one more like we’re all going to the world’s fair. Tv glow was very good but no scary and worlds fair was incredibly scary to me and I like movies that are very scary

I’ll watch anything with Sarah Sherman/Squirm in it.

Schoenbrun maintains her singular vision, and I’m looking forward to whatever self-reflection of past regrets she’ll share in this film.[](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-reflection)

I just watched I Saw The TV Glow a few days ago and this looks like a spiritual sequel. But man, that was one of the saddest movies I’d seen in years but one I don’t regret watching. Justice Smith and Jack Haven were both phenomenal in it, >!Owen’s breakdown and Maddie’s monologue were such riveting scenes!<
The movie really stuck with me for a few days but I highly recommend it. I look toward to what Schoenbrun cooks up here (bet the soundtrack album will be another great listen)

At this point I’m fully convinced Jane Schoenbrun makes movies specifically for me. This looks incredible

I saw the tv glow was possibly the worst movie i watched right along side Jiu Jitsu, so this does not inspire confiance.[](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiu_Jitsu)
