I know I spend a lot of time thinking, gosh, I wish there was another adaptation of pride and prejudice! The last 20-30 adaptations were pretty good, but time for a fresh take. lol

I’ll give it a shot but there are so (SO) many historical romance books of every variety, the high brow literature, the trashy bodice rippers and everything in between that could be made. Must be we keep beating a dead horse…
Edit: for clarity.

I’ll watch anything with Emma Corrin in it. They’re fantastic.

That Mr. Darcy casting looks terrible. Or maybe it’s just the angle of the shot. He does not look good. She looks stunning though.

Is she sitting on a roof? What is that?

I’m actually quite excited for this. As a period drama fan, I’m quite cold to both 1995 and 2005 – the former is just too classic BBC adaptation (I know that it set the template), while the latter’s style would have been much more appropriate for a Brontë book. Judging by this very brief teaser it doesn’t at least look like they are trying to Bridgerton/ Persuasion the book, and the leads are great actors with a suitable classic look

Wasn’t she also in Lady Chatterley’s Lover a year or so ago?

I think I’ll just watch the 1995 version (for the 40th time) thanks.

Jeez, not another one.
If there’s an Austen novel that needs a new, definitive version, it’s Sense and Sensibility.

I wonder how Netflix will dumb this down for people.

I want her to play Anna Karenina next because, I mean, just say “Emma Corrin in Anna Karenina” out loud and you’ll get it.

all I’m asking for is 1995’s plot accuracy with 2005’s set design

Always thought they talked a little too fast in the 2005 version. Hopefully this fixes that at least.

Love both Jack and Emma, but those wigs are awful

The Persuasion adaptation was so awful and out of tune – this looks more on point
