As a Canadian I can accept the USA WOmen’s team winning as I knew they were NOT maga. It was a close game and tbh most gold medal games were the luck of the puck and could have gone either way so the USA media and pedo president treating it as if it signifies something bigger is bonkers.
I knew the USA men;’s team were maga and I also have issues with the canadian men’s team. Hockey is rape culture and people need to wake up to that fact.
That US men’s locker room was just a room filled with BROCK TURNERS.

The Hughes bros must be feeling the backlash because on the Today Show this morning, they took time to praise the women’s team and said how they each showed up to each other’s games yada yada. Not an apology or even a real acknowledgment of the issue, but a bit sheepish maybe? Their mother was on earlier and Hoda outright asked her about the controversy and the mother skirted around the whole damn thing and said that the two teams united America and focused us onto one thing and they support each other blah blah blah.
I hope at least some of these bros get a clue and skip the SotU.
In the video of the phonecall, one player responded to T’s mention of the women’s team by shouting out “2 for 2” like he’s proud of the women and didn’t realize T was dissing them. I hope he realized it later and decides not to go.
This was repugnant behavior by POTUS toward a team that just won gold for this country. But of course he dissed soldiers who have died for America so of course he’d be misogynistic about athletes. But the hockey bros didn’t have to laugh along like utter morons.
I really wish Canada had won.
