AOC talks about the pain and the vitriol she has faced by the democrats, how they told her she was an enemy and that mainstream democrats have to swallow medicine on how younger voters stand on issues like Palestine

  1. She is fighting against both sides for her cause, it’s pathetic behaviour by the Dems when she is a more staunch advocate than many in the party.

  2. Establishment dems are no better than Republicans on so many issues. I’m fucking sick of them. There needs to be a huge push to force them out.

Fuck Chuck Schumer and whatever dumbass conservative “mainstream Democrats” people are giving her grief. I’m sorry AOC.

  4. She’s hardly even that left wing lmao. Especially when you compare her to dems of the past

It’s embarrassing in this country that any hint of ‘left of center’ politics is treated like poison.

    We’re so fucked

I’ll never believe it was just republicans that helped trump get back into office. Dems helped too because some of them secretly support (and profit) from his policies.

We need to start to primary all of the moderate dems who care about corps/billionaires more than their own constituents.

When someone with integrity speaks up and lets everyone know they’re all in on it.

This is true. I have heard the term “industry disrupter” before. She was too young, too progressive, too untested, too optimistic and too unrealistic.

She is the future of the Democratic Party, as long as we can keep her safe until this is over.

  9. The older I get, the more I realize this is true in so many spaces. You’re fighting a fight outside of the bubble and then end up fighting one within.

  10. AOC voted against an amendment that would have cut funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, but she is the hero, the saviour, the victim.

  11. One of the most annoying things in politics is the tautological reasoning from mainstream Dems that people like AOC can’t attract wide audiences. She only can’t because she’s facing attacks from every side. Once republicans realized they had something in Trump, they abandoned any principles they had left and went full bore on MAGA. For some reason, Dems refuse to acknowledge the lesson that has been taught to them by Mamdani, Trump, and even Obama to some extent—new ideas and charisma are the two most important things in US politics.

  12. I don’t know why but I think it’s going to be Newsom/AOC. It’d be a miracle they don’t pick Newsom, but it gets covered with AOC. probably a crazy stupid stretch. But maybe.

When she refers to “swallowing medicine,” she typically makes reference to a generational and ideological transition, contending that younger voters typically have more robust opinions on topics such as economic inequality, climate change, and Palestinian rights. She believes that rather than fighting against these changes, the party must adjust to where its base is going.

  14. She even gave this example herself, and it was kinda like, “You’re working at a company, your boss hates you, your coworkers don’t trust you, and people from a rival company are out to get you.” That’s basically what her first term..felt like super rough. But I’m really glad she didn’t bail and stayed in the House, fighting for a better world.

She’s been one of the few, few people displaying courage and talking directly to the American people instead of treating us like we’re at the kids table. I appreciate her endlessly

  16. especially clear to see when suddenly Mamdani is the posterboy of democrat official socmed (looking at you, tiktok)

  17. While the GOP and MAGA are infinitely worse people, they’d have way less influence if these old guard moderate dems stood for their constituents’ interests
