This is probably me being an annoying Gen z but I appreciate how authentically awful they are instead of whatever we have now

Recently binged this show and wish I could rewatch it again for the first time. It really is so special and such a great representation of the time!
But also fuck Jessa and Adam
also edit to add the q-tip scene traumatized me 😭

I can’t watch it anymore because of Lena Denham’s whole deal but damn did I love that show as a millennial.
The line, I think from the first episode, “You’re not an adult if your parents pay for your cell phone” stuck with me for a long time 😭

I think I would vote for Broad City.

i wish i could like this show but it’s just so cringe. i loved the concept of the characters being imperfect but at the same time some were so aggravatingly obnoxious and stupid that it made the show such a hard watch (though to be fair some people can be aggravatingly obnoxious and stupid too)

I wanted to hate this show so badly as a POC in my 20s who lived in Brooklyn when it aired. Held out on watching for years. Ended up binging the whole thing two years ago and I was in love. Lena is problematic, to say the least but she’s an incredible writing talent and she masterfully captured the essence of what it was like to be a Brooklyn millennial in that time period

Girls walked so half the messy millennial shows could run Lena Dunham really captured chaos in its purest, funniest form.
