That was a harrowing night of competition. I felt so bad for everyone that fell, but also so happy for Shaidorov. He put on a stellar performance.

  2. I loved his music choices for both programs. The Dune SP and Fifth Element LP had my inner cinephile vibing out.

The jumps that these athletes can pull off are super impressive. I love when the Olympics come around and we get to see these insane displays of athleticism and artistry.

  3. His story is so amazing and what the Olympics is all about. Spent his whole Olympics being told that the podium was already set and the gold medal already awarded, he had no chances, he still shows up, landed five quads while the podium favs were crumbling under pressure. And he did it to the tune of the operatic song from The Fifth Element. (Also nods to the Dune program! And the costume!!!)

Kazakhstan only had one medal in its history of participating in this category (bronze, 2014, recipient was murdered 4 years later), and one gold medal in 1994.

It’s been 32 years since Kazakhstan had a gold medal in the Winter olympics. Amazing accomplishment for Misha.
