Team USA Curler Rich Ruohonen: “We’d be remiss if we didn’t at least mention what’s going on in Minnesota…I am a lawyer, as you know, and we have a constitution… and what’s happening in Minnesota is wrong. There’s no shades of gray. It’s clear.”

  1. For context: He’s a personal injury attorney from Minnesota with a 27-trial winning streak. Man knows his constitutional law AND how to deliver a closing statement

This is what loving your country looks like.

I hate that a White man saying this is a big deal, but it is.

  3. This is what we need right now. Thank you for speaking on the truth and making some sense of these crazy times, echoes the point across to those on the correct side of this all

  4. I think that’s why the US is not beyond saving. A lot of people are not brainwashed and would actually stand up against Trump. You don’t see these kind of actions in Russia or China when their government abused human rights.

  5. I’ve been loving how many of our athletes have been speaking out about the current atrocities being committed in our country. We need people in the public eye reminding everyone that a lot of us are not okay with this and will not stay silent about what’s going on.

Side note: God a lawyer AND an Olympian? I have got to get my life together lmao

MAGA is going to start sending him death threats and some douche GOP is going to ask for him to be investigated because this is where the US is in this current timeline.

  7. He looks terrified. Like he knows that the fascist maga mob will threaten him and he will get the full trump treatment. This is insanity that vocally supporting the constitution is seen as an act of civil disobedience

It’s both hilarious and sad that one of the dominant themes from the Olympics this year is the amount of athletes distancing themselves from those that run the country they represent. I love it because that’s how it should be, but hate it because it shows what an embarrassment and danger our government is

  9. I am so glad Team Casper is there for the US, I truly doubt anyone from team Shuster would’ve spoken up.

I love that our athletes at the olympics are representing actual America, and not the fascists who are trying to take over.

Fascism *always* loses, it’s just a matter of time. Together, we will win.

  11. He argues with other people for a living; I want to see some dumbass chud try to say anything to him.

ngl, I wasn’t really into the Olympics because I found it hard to cheer for a country that clearly has rejected everything I believe in. But when I see athletes step up and use their platform to condemn the violence and racism that has infected us in the tiny hands of this orange president, my heart swells with pride. Because you know fucking what? We are not alone. With all the chaos and divisiveness that this group in power are creating, we can stand proud for what we believe in.

I’m going to cheer my ass off for every one of these athletes who have had the courage to draw attention to the fact that in our hearts, Americans are good people. It takes courage to stand up and point fingers as to what is wrong, and these people are fucking doing it.

I’m so tired of the tiktok style meta of only tricking people into thinking there’s subtitles but not actually having subtitles.
