This scene used to terrify me as a kid. Shan Yu was scary on his own but Shan Yu silently appearing on top of a mountain only to then be followed by an army of thousands with that music in the background, descending fast on the heroes is a different level of horror.

It’s insane how the live-action remake cut this scene and replaced it with some dumb Home Alone trick.

Before LOTR, this was the most awe-inspiring cavalry charge that I’d seen in a film.

Loved Jerry Goldsmith’s work on the score for this film, THIS scene especially.

My childhood in a movie 🩷🥹 Go Mulan!
I love that they used the smoke cover to approach
I miss good 2D animation
